How to get there?

Take subway No. 4 direction "Stalle P", get off at "Héros / Heroes".

6.1 Tintin Statue / Centre culturel d’Uccle

Rue Rouge 47

Reachable from the station "Héros" on foot. Note opening times!

The Tintin bronze statue is located in the rooms of the Art and Cultural Center. It's made by sculpeur Nat Neujean and was ordered by Raymond Leblanc to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Journal Tintin.

The statue was situated in the Wolvendael park on 29 September 1976 in the presence of Hergé. It moved to the Cultural Center in the late 90s because of increasing vandalism.

It is one of 4 identical statues, which are in private posession. One of them for years stood as a loan in the foyer of the CBBD comic strip center.

A visit might be worth your while.

(The photo of the statue does not come from the Cultural Center but from a different exhibition)

6.2 Tombe d'Hergé - Hergé's resting place

At station "Héros" change to tram 92 for "Fort Jaco" (stop at "Dieweg") or tram 97 to "Dieweg".

On arrival run past a gas station, then you already see the entrance to the cemetery "Dieweg.

Here is the grave of Hergé, who lived in Uccle the last years of his life.

From the entrance take the right path down, past a cross, then there it is the row before the next big cross roads - maybe there is still a little sign.

Some graves are very dilapidated because the Municipal Cemetery on Avenue du Dieweg was actually closed since 1950. They made an exception for Hergé.
